Boost mood… You glow! Get rid of the anger


I got really crabby for the last a few days, I blame the weather. It has been so gloomy and rainy… Could not stand. Do you get affected by the weather too? It’s not the situation that we want to be in.

I could not help yelling at my fiance and I know it’s my fault. He didn’t do anything wrong. What can I do? Is it PMS? No… just the unknown anxious feeling controls me. I want to eat sweet and drink beer, even for once I want to smoke cigarette. BAD!

After googling around, I found out the following ways to lift my spirit in a more natural way, so maybe you can try them too whenever you feel down.

Do some garden work
Some bacteria found in soil called Mycobacterium is actually a natural mood lifter. Obviously the microbes in dirt stimulate the same neurons that Prozac does – a very healthy and natural way to feel good. Are you ready to go out and plant your own herbs? I don’t have a gardern, but I ahve a decent balcony, so I am motivated to buy a few pots and some seed to start.

Omega-3
Eat foods like salmon, flaxseed, walnuts and olive oil, which can help feed brain cells, improving mood and our overall outlook on the day. No problem, I have some walnuts in the kitchen and will buy salmon as dinner tonight!

Eat good food/fruit
“mood foods”include celery, fresh oranges, blueberries, tart cherries, these can all help pump more oxygen to our body and brain, helping us to get rid of the gloomy mood. Also they can make us sleep better, which is also very crucial to make us happy. These fruits are good contributors for radiant skin too.

St. John’s Wort

This herb has been recognized as remedy for depression. Generally, the results have been favorable and St. John’s Wort has consistently outperformed placebos and even held its own against prescription antidepressants. Just throw some flowers into boiled water, after a few minutes, you got the Gold!

Eat More Chocolate
Different from the sweet that I wanted in the beginning, some chocolate will totally do the trick! The tryptophan in the dark chocolate helps to boost the mood-lifting serotonin in our brain. Even the taste, texture, and smell make us happy. I won’t complain!

Take a bath
Emerge yourself in the warm water can help clear your mind and relieve stress. If you make it a bubble bath, the nice smell will take all your worries away. It’s good setup for a great night sleep too!

WE need to take action to beat the bad mood, otherwise, we only feel sorry and worry. Try something and work it out. We deserve to be happy! When we are happy, our skin glow! 🙂
