Enhance the result of your facial mask at home…

29 Jan

Happy New Year everyone! I know I have been slack on updating the blogs, we have been planning some big changes this year. will tell you later on.

While we are celebrating the new year, I bet one of your new year resolution will be to be more healthy and treat yourself better.  and I hope you have better skin and GlOW!

One thing I would like to share with you which really works is to enhance the effect of your regular facial mask routine at home. It’s easy— after you apply the mask, cut the cling wrap to cover whole face (don’t forget to leave the hole for breathing).  then if you want even more thorough effect, put a warm towel on top to help skin to absorb the nutrition from the mask.

After 15 mins, remove your mask, then you will see a glowing you in the mirror!  :)

Random…

11 Nov

Haven’t been here for a long time… during this period…a lot of thing happened…

Grandpa passed away

Two friends got married

I was engaged

I want to get pregnant…and trying…

But the only thing unchanged is I still care about my skin and go to facial every 5 weeks, which I started from daily deals and became regular customer. Bought some masks from deal website… now my life has been involved with all the deals… and I don’t mind that I am a bit obsessed with it. :)

Today on the train read some newspaper article, saying research shows, being a happy person is better than using the most expensive anti-ageing cream… so… why don’t we smile to someone around us?  Now! :) happy weekend!

Time to remind ourselves… wrinking fighting is a everyday battle! Keep it up! :)

10 Jul

OK, Wrinkles are the first sign that suggests we are not young anymore. But, Once you learn how to reduce wrinkles and fine lines, you will no doubt end up looking years younger than you really are! Many things may help you do that. Here is how:

The primary enemy that you have to fight is the Sun. It is the primary cause for wrinkles and fine lines. That’s why it is very important to put on sunscreen with at least SPF 15 before heading out. To protect your whole body, try to wear long-sleeved dresses or long pants and a floppy hat.

Another critical factor is the time you spend on sleeping. If you are not sleeping adequately, your body will react by producing cortisol that will break down your skin layer cells. That in turn results in fine lines and wrinkles. So stop staying up and pondering how you can reduce wrinkles and try to sleep for 7 to 8 hours!

Don’t squint while out in the sun. If you do, especially throughout the hottest part of the day, fine lines and wrinkles will show up faster around your eyes. So please please wear sunglasses when outside.

Another weapon in your quest of the way to reduce wrinkles and wrinkles is your diet. As most of us know, fruits and vegetables full of antioxidants break down free molecules contributing to formation of wrinkles and fine lines. So eay plenty!

Keeping your skin amply moisturized is another step to having wrinkle-free skin. Since our skin produces less oil as we get older, we need to balance it by applying moisturizers and lotions containing AHA. These products lift your top layer of skin and therefore reduces wrinkles from appearing.

For reducing fine lines around eyes, the most appropriate is usually to put two slices of cucumber on them while resting. The slices won’t help to reduce wrinkles but will also reduce puffy eyes too.
In case you have a habit of washing your face way too many times, make sure you stop it. Using cleansers that dry the skin and even tap water can reduce the natural oil in your face which inturn will cause formation of wrinkles.

Lastly, as part of your quest of how to reduce wrinkles and fine lines, don’t forget drinking a lot of water. Have at least 8 glasses per day to keep your skin hydrated and free from wrinkles and fine lines.

Wine? Skin care?

25 Jun

The website Smarterdailydeal is holding a competition to win $120 worth of wine, I just joined and this triggered me the thoughts around wine… We are so blessed with the great wines here in Australia. And they are great with high quality and cheap price! Being a wowan whol\ loves wine, I tried to find out how wine will help improve skin condition and health to rationalize my alcohol consumption.

Browsing through the internet, I found out that wine, especially red wine has many components that makes it so wonderful for skin! Resveratrol comes from the skin of grapes and is full of antioxidants, protecting the skin by neutralizing free radicals that harm the skin and aid in premature aging. Grapeseed extracts, alpha-hydroxy-acids, and phytoalexins in red wine combine and work together to help accelerate skin healing, improve circulation, strengthen, calm and soften the skin.

There are a lot of skin care products (like mask and moisturizer…) all include the extracts from red wine. A recent study claimed that using red wine for skincare and red wine body treatments have aromatherapy benefits through inhaling the scent of wine. Also the red wine also help to boost the memory, good for heart and help to maintain ideal weight…

Now I feel really good to have a glass or two at dinner with delicious food. :) Of course we have to understand there is always a limit to how much you drink. Moderate is the key.

Having said that, if you are interested to join the competition, I will share the joy with you (you never know, maybe you would have the luck), here is the website to win the wine  www.smarterdailydeal.com ;)

Friday, Oprah’s last show, self-realization…

27 May

Thanks God, It’s Friday! Been such a long week and especially today, a long & tiring day.

Work was not really ideal, very far and millions of trivial things & complicated relationships push me to the very limit from time to time…

I am happy it is Friday and I can have a weekend to rest.

Watched Oprah’s last show on TV just now & she was so great. I didn’t watch all her shows, but every show I watched, I was deeply moved. The stories, the interviews she conducted gave a lot for people to think.

She was elegant in the pink dress, hair nicely done, charmingly authority made you can’t do anything but listen to her. She advised everyone to value life and answer God’s calling, do things that one truly love and contribute to the whole society and world.  I always talk to myself, yes, although I don’t like this job, it  pays my bills, but I am not happy. Everyday I come back home, I feel that I didn’t achieve anything.

Oprah says you can’t rely on the environment to change for you, you can’t rely on others to do things for you; you are the master of your own life. I know it, but when she said that, I felt it.

I need to reconsider my life and live it on my own, I need to free myself.

Thanks Oprah, I will see you till next time….

Friends, have a great weekend… and take care of yourself.  :-)

“SPF” food, everything is easy… no wrinkles!

12 Apr

We all know that sun is the No.1 enemy for skin…biggest contributor for the wrinkles. So apart from applying SPF lotion every day, you can also eat some food which has natural SPF ability, such as V β against UV.

1. Yellow, Red color Fruit/Veggie –such as mango, papaya, tomato. And tomato is the best SPF food, cooked ones have better effect than eating raw.

2. Fruits with High Vitamin C– Such as kiwi fruit, strawberry and orange.

3. Soy bean which has (Isoflavones) has high antioxidant, great for keeping smooth, good skin tone.

4. green tea— if you drink 2 cups of green tea every day, you are set for all, it’s one of the highest anti-aging food among all.

So, eat/drink smart, we are keeping wrinkles further from us! :)

Record your age with iphone app…

31 Mar

Grab the MX newspaper before jumping on the train back home. In the “What in the weird” section, I read this news— ‘iphone app for the age’, basically it takes a picture of your face daily to chart the ravages of time… what’s good about it? “Whether you have eye bags or are red-faced from the gym, the app will prompt you to take a pic at a designated time for an album of you ageing. After months or years, you can turn the photo into a film or post them on the net”… OMG, I don’t know why I want to do that?

I thought the Age app might be something to help you test the skin condition, and provide tips… although not as scientific as the machine in the beauty salon, however, from a lot of data, such app is not impossible. But this one, recording how you aged…hmmm, I am not too sure…

Oh well, so that’s why it is in the “weird” section…

Potato is Great for you! Keep eating!

19 Mar

Coles potatos on discount, so I bought another 3kg bag, whole a lot.  :) I like them, boyfriend loves them, so everyone happy.

A friend of my was saying that I was slim hence I didn’t care that too much potato will make me fat, but I don’t really think so. Who said potato will make people fat? From the chips? Only when you eat too much and it contains too much oil.

I researched a bit and try to help potato to regain its fame.

1. Potato is very nutritious and help anti-aging.

Potato has rich VitaminB1、B2、B6 and much more like fibers, protein etc.  Someone who eat potato often are healthy and slow down the aging process.

2. Potato is natural beauty product

You know what? Potato can be used as natural beauty product! Fresh potato juice (I have never tried, but tempting) can be applied on face for whitening. Hence if you got sun burnt, getting darker and you can try the potato juice without side effect.

Also for the eye area. If you boil the potato and cut it into slices. put one slice on your eyes, it’s great to reduce the puffiness. Also cut the fresh potato slice to reduce wrinkles.

3. Potato is good for diet

My friend, and a lot of people think potato makes people fat.  In fact, you are wrong. Potato only contains 0.1% fat, it’s the lowest among all the filling food.  Of course, If you eat big bowl of potato chips every day, then I am questioning  your overall diet planning.

Potato has the magic, it makes fat people slimmer & skinner people gain a bit desired weight. Just eat them as main meal not side dish.

4. Potato is good for your mood

Most of us working 8 or more hours a day, facing a lot of pressure. It is so easy to get affected by the work and other trivia in life to feel depressed and feel negative.  Potato has rich Vitamin A and C, which is helpful to  change your mood to better.  haha, no wonder when I gulp the chips, I always feel happy! lol

Haha, what’s for dinner tonight?

Potato of course! :)

Lips Care Q & A

Q:In the autumn, winter, my lips always feels dry. No matter how many times I apply the lip balm, after a while, it feels dry again.

A:It’s normal because of the weather, so we need to pay more attention to the lips care. Actually, not only to the lips, but the whole face area. Drink enough water and no smoking, less spicy food.  And do not lick your lips even it feels dry, otherwise, it only get dryer more quickly.

Q: If my lips start peeling, what should I do?

A: Cover your lips with hot towel for a few minutes, then use the cotton stick to remove the peeled skin gently, apply some olive oil and cover with cling wrap for another 5 mins.  you are done. Lips SPA.  :)

Q: If my lips getting more wrinkles, darkened in color, what will be the best way to recover?

A: It’s more related to diet and your habit. Do not smoke, try reduce the intakes of coffee, tea, etc. Eat more fruits, Vitamin A and Vitamin E, and when you go out, be careful of the sun!

Keep your lovely lips moisturized! :)
