Mother’s day is Sunday, can you believe it? All media have started bombarding a month ago, but suddenly felt it’s so close now.

Have you made any plans to celebrate this special day with your mum? What gift are you going to surprise her? I don’t live together with my mum – I mean at the moment we live in different countries, I will give her a call and ask my sister to send her some gifts for me.

If you are lucky to be close to your mum and can spend that day with her, congrats! You should put on a nice make up – maybe give her a make up too. Not too heavy, just fresh and lovely makeup, have a nice afternoon tea, talk some jokes, flip some photo books. How wonderful!

Mother’s Day Make Up

I have been traveling for the past 2 months & living in Taipei. It’s a city with a lot of beautiful women and all of them are conscious about how they look. You can see a lot of beauty products’ advertisement on TV & in the shops displayed beauty drinks which are claimed to keep your youth (I am still a bit skeptical for that).

Massage Regularly … good for complexion

Anyway, I did learn something while reading some beauty/fashion magazines about skin care. Here, for the Friday evening, why don’t we do a great massage to relax our skin, relax our mind for a big night sleep!
To detox and get a better complexion, it is recommended to massage with serum, depends on your skin condition, you can do once a week or twice a week – after a few times, you will see the result.
Just follow –
1. Massage the serum in your palm to heat up a bit for better result. 2. Massage gently with the front part of your fingers, from chin, side of nose, center of forehead to ear. 3.
What is the first thing that you drink in the morning when you get up?

Water, tea, cocacola, juice, milk?

Drink water after you wake up

Actually water is the best choice. Drinking water as the first thing after you get up helps the body get hydrated, detox and moisturize the skin, also it helps you to wake up!

There are a lot theories flying around, some people say drinking salt water is better. Think about it for a second, the whole night you didn’t drink anything, however your respiration, perspiration will consume a lot of water. so when you get up, if you drink salt water, which adds more duty to the kidney, you would feel even dryer and more thirsty. Also it’s inclined to cause high blood pressure.

Drinking fruit juice, cola, coffee or milk are not great choices either. These drinks might sound fancy and with more flavor, but they will contribute to calcium deficiency, or make body lose water faster, leaving you more dehydrated. So drink water first, then with or after breakfast, drink other alternatives.

For women, if you like to add in honey and some lemon juice to your water, that’s fine fine as long as your stomach doesn’t protest. I drank honey water with a bit of lemon juice for a few weeks, then my stomach started playing funny, feeling sour taste in my mouth all the time while my tummy making noise. So i gave up this beauty drink, at least I am not drinking it as the first thing in the morning anymore. You can still drink during the day, but just not with empty stomach.

So after all, the cheapest option – water has all my vote as the first thing to drink in the morning after you wake up.

What do you drink first in the morning? Let us know if you have any different ideas.

I always have period pain during the first 2 days of my period. Every single time. And “interestingly”, I always have to walk a long distance or go to some social gathering which make me stand for continuous hours in these days.

I just passed my first two days periods for this month and I didn’t feel too bad this time. Because I started drinking warm milk with honey. That’s my newly found recipe to ease the period pain. I always drink before sleep, the good part is my body instantly relaxed and easy to fall asleep. The downside is I have to go to the toilet once during the night. So my suggestion to you is if you don’t want to get up & break your sweet dream, then don’t drink right before sleep, maybe 1-2 hours before or during the day.

Milk can help ease pain, honey also help ease anxiety. The combination of these two is such a gold!

So if you have the similar problem as me, don’t bother to go the the pharmacy to get the pills, just go to the kitchen & warm up a glass of milk, add in one teaspoon of honey, drink & you will be smiling. And don’t forget, this is great for skin too!

I was having a Skype chat this morning with one of my best friends – a mum. She has been complaining about so many things need to do before work everyday and the kid made her ignoring her own makeup ritual & she felt bad.

Busy mum getting make up done

Do you feel that same? Everything you do is for kids, you don’t care about your own needs, or no time to care anymore. There must be a way that you can get yourself back, try some of the tips below (from my other friend), maybe you will feel much better.

Top5 things you need to include in your makeup purse:

1. Compact foundation (can be used with dry or damp sponge) – Target to finish in: 60 secs

If you want to do one thing within 2 minute, that’s to apply foundation – to make your skin look flawless with even complexion. Use the damp sponge can easily finish this task. Remember choose the color a tad darker than your skin tone for a better result. If you foundation has SPF, even better, then you have no need to worry to apply sun lotion anymore.

2. Eye/brow pencil – Target to finish in: 60 secs

Many brands these days have eye/brow pencil, so easy & quick. The main thing is to choose on not too hard nor too soft, for a better result. You need to try as many as possible before you buy.

3. Lipstick or Lipgloass – Target to finish in: 30 secs

LipStick or Lipgloss

Women need lipstick or lipgloss – they are magic! Once apply, you suddenly look lively! Try to find waterproof one for you (I myself is hopeless with lipgloss, I will eat it after 5 mins). Even you don’t do anything else, just a nice rosy lips will make you beautiful!

4.Big brush – Target to finish in: 15 secs

Make up brush

Big brush can use in multiple occasions – loose power, blush, etc. Oh, blush is another magic thing for instant effect. Try to get a big brush, too small one won’t achieve the natural result.

5. Black mascara – Target to finish in: 30 secs

Mascara

Another necessity – mascara, which make your eyes look bigger, brighter. Amazing stuff.

Ok, you got it. Hope you can master the quick refresh & makeup skill and get out of the door as quickly as possible. Don’t forget to check the shelf life of your cosmetics from time to time, throw away the expired ones to save up space of your makeup bag.

Let me know if you have any tips & tricks of being a beautiful mum, would love to hear from you, I bet other readers too!

Earth day today. Protect the environment.

I am having my period and got a bit moody… to prevent argument with fiance, I decided to give myself some massage to let my bad mood disappear. To be in Control. Whenever you feel anxious, heated, nervous, you can always rely on essential oil for help – to ease the mood and the related skin problems, such as break out, redness, etc.

What I like most are three essential oils: Lemon, Grapefruit and lavender.

Lemon & grapefruit are both belong to citrus group, they are great for antiflamation and whitening, helping ease the execss oil which is a foundation probelm for acne. Lavendar, as we all know, is great for soothing, but it can also boosting skincell’s regeneration, great for the acne scar or mark. Chamomile oil has similar benefit with Lavernda in terms of soothing the mood, I am going to use it today, smells divine.

The way I am going to apply is as:

STEP1：
Cover face with palm, push upwards, helping skin to absorb the oil
STEP2：fingers touch the corners of the mouth, stroke upwards
STEP3：cover the cheeks with palm, stroke outwards to tighten the skin
STEP4：massage earlobe gently to relax
STEP5：fingers on temples point, massage from the center of the forehead outwards

Repeat a few times.

I felt really great after the mini massage, got myself a cup of tea, then relax and read some book. A wonderful afternoon is ahead of me.

I love food, also believe if you eat right, your skin and body will be right too. Just bought some tomatoes from supermarket and talk to my fiance about drinking some wine at night. Suddenly I realized that these food are all in red color.
A lot of red foods are powerful antioxidant, they taste good, provides health and great for skin!
I picked a few below and give you a brief summary of how wonderful these red foods are:

1. High in iron, so if you have iron deficiency, red rice will be your best friend (red beans has the similar benefit). It can also assist in insomnia, malnutrition, etc.
2. Red Wine

Red wine has resveratrol – a chemical compound found in certain plants, such as grapes, is believed full of antioxidants and have anti aging properties. It can also help the body burn fat (but remember, only drinking red wine can’t reduce weight, you need to exercise too). Drinking red wine in moderation can also improve heart health and circulation, help prevent cancer, heart disease and have a positive effect on cholesterol levels and blood pressure. Of course, it also give our face a bit lovely rosy glow.

3. They also help skin to lock moisture, prevent wrinkles’ development. Omega-3 fatty acids have also been shown to reduce menstrual cramps, prevent depression and help protect against Alzheimer’s disease. Magic eh?

5.
Happy Friday! YAY!

I would like to share one interesting article that I read today. Beauty is a very very hot topic in Japan, you can see a lot of trend of using certain product or beauty gadgets come from Japan. The women there are proud to be still younger looking when they reach mid-age. Beauty TV programs are everywhere.

Recently one beauty website conducted a research of how normal Japanese women fight against aging, here are top 10 things they listed–
No.1 – MONEY! Doing regular facial, buying cosmetics, doing plastic surgery, buying supplements all need money!
No.2 – Sufficient Sleep. Especially the beauty sleep needs to be assured. No matter how busy you are, try to sleep at least 6 hours if not more.
No.3 -
Falling in love. This sounds strange, but I guess it makes sense too. There is a saying “the most beautiful girl is the girl in love”. When you are in love, the brain produces a powerful love hormone, phenylethylamine, better known as PEA. This will help the skin getting tighter with natural glow.
No.4 -
Healthy diet, well this is not arguable
No.5 -
Reduce stress, yes, yes, yes, more smile leads to better mood and better skin
No.6 -
Moderate exercise, agree too, exercises are crucial for skin condition
No.7 -
Walking in a right way – what is the right way of walking, I think I need to research more on this topic.
No.8 -
collecting beauty info. guess if you are reading this post, you meet this criteria
No.9 -
Time, more time for yourself, more time to do everything that you want to do to take care of skin…less time meeting all the requests from kids and husband.
No.10-

Beauty Pills – That’s the short cut to a lot of problems.

I would say, a lot of things mentioned above should be practiced in sync, which will lead to better result! What do you think? Which one
